Course Overview

This course supports people with special learning needs and helps them develop skills for further study or employment in a supported environment. Student develop social, life and communication skills, and increase their confidence and travel independence in the community. Skills include personal development, basic literacy and numeracy, everyday technology, independent living and vocational and employability skills.

Entry Requirements

This course is restricted to post compulsory school aged learners with evidence of a permanent cognitive and/or intellectual disability.

You will also need to provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination.

Course Structure

This course is made up of 10 units of competency including 6 core and 4 elective units.

Elective units in our courses may be amended for specific organisational needs. Consultation with the Education and Training Manager is required for tailored electives that align with your organisations requirements.

Course Duration

Training is delivered 2 days a week (excluding public holidays and school holidays) in a classroom based model and is delivered over 50 weeks.

Course Fees

Government funded: $100

*Enrolment Fee includes the administration and materials cost.

Self-funded: $17,255

Individuals ineligible for funding are obligated to cover the self-funded fee, which incorporates the enrolment fee. Eligibility criteria applies.

For additional service fees, such as re-assessment fees or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), please refer to the Student Course guide. This program is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth government funding to eligible candidates.
